The RoleAs an Image & Video Processing Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to our engineering team, helping us shape the future of digital product content. You’ll lead the development of key components of our content processing engine — an integral part of our product content management system. Your expertise in image transformations will directly impact how brands deliver differentiated visual experiences. Your work will directly power the tools used by top brands to create tailored product visuals dynamically and at scale.This is a part-time, high-impact role for a technical specialist who values the “why” behind the work, and is eager to drive innovation in a production-grade environment.Role Objectives- Design, develop, and optimize core computer vision and image processing algorithms to power product content transforms (e.g. recoloring, retexturing, layout adaptation).- Build tools for background removal, shadow and object segmentation, image inpainting, and other key visual transformation tasks.- Contribute to the design of a scalable image processing architecture integrated with our broader SaaS platform.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering and creative services to integrate features into the full product lifecycle.- Document architecture decisions, experiment results, and model performance to support continuous learning and iteration.Skills & Experience- 3+ years of experience developing computer vision and image processing solutions, ideally in a SaaS or e-commerce ecosystem.- Proficient in C/C++ with knowledge of the OpenCV 4 Library.- Solid understanding of image segmentation, background subtraction, keypoint detection, and content-aware rendering.- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and deployment practices (AWS is preferred, but other cloud providers are acceptable).- Strong communication and documentation skills, with a collaborative mindset.- Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a flexible, part-time setting.- (Nice to Have) Understanding of AI techniques and tools as it relates to image processing.- (Nice to Have) Current with research and best practices in generative imaging, neural rendering, and emerging CV techniques.- (Nice to Have) Familiarity with e-commerce product photography or digital asset management systems.Compensation- Salary, commensurate with experience- Annual bonus- Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid company holidaysThose interested and meet the above conditions, please send your resume and contact details to careers@showlabs.com and include subject line “Engineering Application”.
