As our Director of Solution Engineering, you’ll architect and lead the technical heartbeat of the sales organization. Your impact? Ensuring every customer interaction — before and after the sale — is powered by expertise, confidence, and clarity.
You’ll guide a team of Solution Engineering Managers who lead highly skilled technical professionals supporting 35,000 MSP partners across our Cloud Marketplace. You won’t just manage performance — you’ll shape strategy, elevate talent, and build a department that sets the standard for excellence.

💡 What You’ll Actually Do (AKA: Your Everyday Impact)
Every day, you will:
Lead and mentor Solution Engineering Managers to build high-performing, engaged teams
Design and evolve the department structure to support scale and growth
Define and drive team OKRs that align with business objectives
Partner strategically with Sales leadership to ensure every technical sales interaction is world-class
Conduct meaningful performance reviews that unlock career growth (not just check a box)
Champion Pax8 Values and build a culture rooted in trust, authenticity, and accountability
Identify training needs and ensure the team has access to the right development opportunities
Optimize processes to improve efficiency, quality, and measurable business impact
Represent Solution Engineering at the executive level with clarity and confidence

📈 What Success Looks Like
Within 90 Days, You Will:
Build strong relationships with Sales leadership and key stakeholders
Assess team structure, performance metrics, and capability gaps
Establish clear OKRs aligned to company objectives
Implement performance review cadence and talent development plans
Within 120 Days, You Will:
Execute at least one strategic initiative that improves team performance or sales alignment
Optimize call quality standards in partnership with Sales leadership
Identify and implement training improvements across the department
Within 6 Months, You Will:
Demonstrate measurable improvements in pre- and post-sales technical engagement quality
Strengthen managerial leadership bench and succession readiness
Increase operational efficiency through process improvements
Within 12 Months, You Will:
Build a high-performing, scalable Solution Engineering organization
Drive short-to-mid-term business impact through strategic initiatives
Develop future leaders within your management team
Be known as the executive who can translate big vision into real results
🧠 What You Must Bring on Day One
To thrive in this role, you must:
Have 5+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years leading managers
Have a proven track record of delivering results — even when conditions aren’t ideal
Know how to build, coach, and elevate high-performing teams
Instill trust through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
Communicate with executive presence and clarity
Translate forward-looking strategy into actionable execution plans
Secure and deploy resources effectively
Paint a compelling vision that motivates people to move
Bonus points if you genuinely enjoy developing leaders and can give feedback that inspires growth rather than fear.
🎓 Education
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field or equivalent work experience
Work Environment
Professional office or remote/hybrid setting.
Physical Demands
Primarily sedentary with occasional travel.
Location / Travel: Denver, CO or Remote; occasional travel (15–25%).
Compensation: $163,660+ USD / CAD 223,000+ (100% base).

$163,660+ USD / CAD 223,000+ (100% base).
