Job Summary
We're looking for a Senior Technical Accountant with a strong grasp of ASC 606 revenue recognition to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll ensure our financial reporting is accurate and compliant by diving deep into transactional processes, reviewing contracts, and analyzing complex revenue streams.
What You'll Do:
Become an ASC 606 Expert: Analyze customer contracts to pinpoint performance obligations, transaction prices, and allocate revenue precisely in line with ASC 606.
Decipher Complex Transactions: Conduct detailed assessments of revenue recognition for intricate deals, including multi-element arrangements and variable consideration.
Document and Justify: Prepare thorough technical accounting memos for significant transactions, ensuring strict adherence to U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with sales, legal, and operations teams to resolve revenue-related issues during contract negotiations.
Maintain Financial Accuracy: Monitor and reconcile revenue accounts, ensuring timely and accurate revenue recognition.
Support Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, with a specific focus on revenue-related disclosures.
Optimize Processes: Help implement and maintain systems and processes to streamline revenue recognition and reporting.
Facilitate Audits: Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue-related transactions.
What You'll Bring:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical accounting or a public accounting firm, with Big 4 experience a plus.
Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and its practical application to transactional accounting.
Data Proficiency: Strong Excel skills and the ability to effectively manage large datasets.
Analytical Prowess: Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to clearly explain technical concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite.
Familiarity with revenue management systems.
Prior experience reviewing and analyzing contracts specifically for revenue recognition.
Experience working with large international entities that transact in multiple currencies and countries.
Familiarity with industry-specific revenue recognition practices (e.g., SaaS or technology).
The ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $82,499.00 to 103,124.00 or more depending on experience.
