Job Summary:

The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, with a strong emphasis on transactional processes and revenue recognition under ASC 606. This role requires hands-on involvement in reviewing contracts, analyzing transactions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze customer contracts to identify performance obligations, transaction prices, and revenue allocation in compliance with ASC 606.
  • Perform detailed assessments of revenue recognition for complex transactions, including multi-element arrangements and variable consideration.
  • Prepare and document technical accounting memos for significant transactions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to address revenue-related issues during contract negotiations.
  • Monitor and reconcile revenue accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, focusing on revenue-related disclosures.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of systems and processes to streamline revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide documentation and explanations for revenue-related transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical accounting or public accounting firm, preferably Big 4.
  • Strong excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and its application to transactional accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  • Experience or familiarity with Revenue management systems.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing contracts for revenue recognition purposes.
  • Experience with working with large international entities who transact in multiple currencies and countries.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific revenue recognition practices (e.g., SaaS, or technology).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

  • Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $82,499.00 to 103,124.00 or more depending on experience.
