Position Summary:
As a Strategic Consulting Director, you will join a world-class Strategy & Operations (S&O) team composed of creative, passionate, collaborative, and innovative individuals. Our team plays a crucial role in the organization by enhancing capabilities and fostering innovation through business governance, strategic operations, business intelligence, and corporate development. We aim to create a competitive advantage and develop a roadmap to achieve short, mid, and long-term goals, driving success and growth at Pax8.
Role Summary:
The role will work closely with the key stakeholders within our S&O department, VP of Value Management, engage as a member of the S&O leadership team and within the broader organization. The focus is to analyze strategic business problems and opportunities, providing expert advice and recommendations for improvements toward our strategic plans. Success is measured by the functions’ aligned initiatives on qualitative and quantitative metrics and measurement of functions aligned feedback.
Essential Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Direct work to execute results and outcomes of initiatives, delivery real value to functions and delivering maximum ROI to business strategy. This includes business case development, strategic initiatives management, strategic planning and budget alignment.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate and lead Executive Steering Committee(s) to align strategic initiatives and escalations. Identifying, engaging, and managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure program success. Dedication to understanding their business needs and meeting the needs of various stakeholders, while delivering maximum business value, and ensuring satisfaction.
Problem-Solving: Works on complex problems where problems are not clearly defined. Translates business segment strategy into functional plans and guides execution. Engages in corporate development of methods, technique and valuation criteria for project, programs, and people.
Leadership & Communication: Guiding teams and inspiring them to achieve strategic goals. Frequent interactions with senior management, executive and C-Suite members that requires negotiation and reconciliation of varying viewpoints to drive business results. Escalation of roadblocks, challenging status quo, and risk mitigation to ensure highest level of valued outcomes and business solutions.
Internal and Market Analysis: Perform value analysis, benefits analysis, oversee portfolio of initiatives, and compliance. Analyze market trends and identifying opportunities for the organization.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least ten (10) year management experience
- At least seven to ten (7-10) years in strategic consulting or related field
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term plans and foresee potential challenges.
- Project Management: Overseeing projects and ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaboration: Strong influence management skills with the ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment to build and maintain positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals. Gain understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross- functional project teams and functional management
- Communication and Influence: Excellent communication skills and interpersonal/team effectiveness – ability to succinctly and accurately communicate to various levels of management and employees
- Operational Management & Excellence: Exceptional portfolio, program, and project management skills
- Business acumen: ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective
- Results Driven: Demonstrates initiative; results oriented. Ability to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances
- Decision-making: Excellent ability to negotiate and balance decisions and manage competing priorities across multiple functional areas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders. Ability to effectively build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization
- Problem Solving: Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. Able to understand how strategic decisions impact the department or organization.
Required Education & Certifications:
- B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
- Certifications in project/program/portfolio management required
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $135,000/yr to $175,000/yr or more depending on experience.
