Position Summary:
A Product Manager is a strategic role that involves steering the development of products within an Agile framework. Technology Services Product Managers are responsible for defining the product vision, managing the product roadmap, and prioritizing the product work backlog for the delivery services teams to align with customer needs and company goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Creating and prioritizing the user story level product backlog, and continuously refining it based on stakeholder feedback and market changes
- Articulate customer desired outcomes, typically as user stories, to clearly communicate the features and functionalities needed and define what must be true to create value for the customer.
- Ensure complete transparency for customers by creating metrics driven dashboards, roadmaps and other communications that articulate team performance and set reasonable expectations for delivery.
- Align scope to meet required deadlines and align deadlines to meet required scope where appropriate through negotiation and collaboration with customers.
- Business Alignment: Spend time with your customers to understand what is most important to them to be able to act as a proxy for customer interests.
- Always available for delivery team to answer any questions they may have to facilitate a smooth development process.
- Defining and articulating the product vision to the team and strategy in alignment with company goals and customer needs.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product management or a similar role.
- Proven experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of product management best practices and principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban ) is a plus.
Role Competencies:
- Agile Methodologies and Frameworks: Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or XP is essential. This includes managing product backlogs, prioritizing features, and facilitating iterative development.
- Product Road-mapping and Backlog Management: Ability to create and maintain a strategic product roadmap that aligns with the company’s vision and adapt to changes. Skilled in grooming and prioritizing the product backlog for maximum impact.
- Technical Expertise: Understanding the technical side of product development is crucial. This doesn’t necessarily mean coding skills, but a good grasp of the web development process and technology behind the product.
- Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and align product development with business goals is important for driving innovation and growth.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are necessary to ensure alignment and collaboration across various teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Agile Product Managers should be adept at identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving product goals.
- Experience: Previous experience working with cross-functional teams and practical experience of common methodologies like Scrum or Kanban is beneficial.
Required Education & Certifications:
- B.S./B.A. degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience

- Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I)
- Agile Product Management Certification (APMC):
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO):
- SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM):
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $99,000 or more depending on experience
