Position Summary:
The Manager of Accounting - Vendor Reconciliation works within the Finance organization and focuses on developing a robust reconciliation process between revenue and cost of goods (COGS) sold across all transactions in the Pax8 Marketplace. They collaborate closely with the Marketplace Reconciliation team and play a central role in evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing solutions to remediate financial and subscription discrepancies with Pax8’s vendors. The Manager coordinates and engages global internal stakeholders to support business growth while ensuring the integrity of Pax8’s financial statements. They have experience with ASC 606 and revenue accounting, a strong analytical mindset, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide and interpret detailed revenue and cost transaction detail used to calculate monthly revenue and COGS to the Marketplace Reconciliation team for analysis.
- Serve as a liaison between the Marketplace Reconciliation team and the global Accounting team to ensure alignment on accurate and timely financial reporting involving reconciliation discrepancies.
- Interpret vendor reconciliation findings with the global Accounting team during the financial close and review process.
- Assist with establishing robust reconciliation controls and procedures to mitigate financial risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide reporting to quantify financial impact of reconciliation findings, as well as track and report on the resolution.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reconciliation accuracy, financial impact, and resolution of outstanding reconciliation discrepancies.
- Leverage technology and best practices to automate repetitive processes while improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist the Marketplace Reconciliation team in analyzing reconciliation data to generate actionable insights and prepare comprehensive reports for management review and decision-making.
- Support internal and external reconciliation efforts by providing necessary documentation and data.
- Collaborate with global internal stakeholders, including Marketplace Reconciliation team, Sales, and Vendor teams, to foster continued business maturity, financial accuracy, and enable recovery of potential lost revenue.
- Develop and implement sustainable reconciliation practices to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
- Contribute to projects focused on developing long-term, product-based reconciliation solutions.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
- At least four (4) years of progressive accounting experience with revenue accounting experience preferred.
- At least two (2) years of experience in data analysis across large-volume data sets with the ability to interpret and identify discrepancies and trends.
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 to communicate identified reconciliation discrepancies back to the accounting team for proper financial treatment.
- Strong Excel proficiency and experience with complex excel formulas and macros for data manipulation and analysis.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (i.e., PowerBI).
- Previous experience with NetSuite or other enterprise ERP systems.
- Ideally, prior experience in a marketplace environment (e-commerce, digital platforms) is beneficial. Understanding transactional flows, high volume transaction processing, and seller/buyer dynamics adds value.
- Ability to manage multiple reconciliation projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication is crucial for explaining financial discrepancies, collaborating with stakeholders, and presenting reconciliation results to leadership. This includes both written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic, planning, organization, and time management skills to effectively execute project plans.
- Possesses strong business acumen with the ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective.
- Demonstrates initiative and is results oriented.

Required Education & Certifications:
- B.A./B.S. in a related field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science) or equivalent work experience.
- CPA license or MBA is a plus.
Compensation:
- Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $105,000 or more depending on experience
