Position Summary:
The Junior Quality Assurance (JQA) Engineer evaluates and tests new and modified business software. They test software applications according to business and technical requirements. The JQA Engineer ensures that quality, defect-free business applications are maintained efficiently. In addition, they verify, reproduce, report and track defects. The JQA Engineer participates in all phases of testing - including planning, development and revision of project plans and scope.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Tests software applications according to business and technical requirements
- Maintains and prepares software test scripts
- Participates in software requirements gathering sessions
- Isolates, replicates and reports defects to the team
- Maintains defects tracking

- Willingness to learn about database management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Education & Certifications:
- Pursuing a B.A./B.S. degree in relevant discipline; or equivalent work experience
- ISTQB Certification
Compensation:
- This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Qualified candidates can expect an hourly rate beginning at $20/hour or more depending on experience
