Your role as a Nyla Template Designer will be to define best practices for use of the tooling and create best in class templates so that the merchants and partners using our platform can deliver higher converting, more performant sites with minimal effort. You will also drive expert testing and provide feedback on new features in order to help us to improve the editing experience for merchants and partners, as well as the shopping experiences we deliver for end users.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Design and implement Templates and App Defaults to form our design library and become the best-in-class examples on leading eCommerce sites Improve the editing experience for merchants and partners, as well as the shopping experiences we deliver for end users. Help merchants and partners to succeed and adopt best practices on using our tooling Reduce the time it takes to launch eCommerce features and sites through creating the right blend of templates for users to start from Work with the product team to provide feedback and expert user testing on new features and tooling Take a customer centric approach to design and implementation of Sections Deliver a world-class merchant experience at all touch points with our design library and defaults

Requirements:

Successfully created entire websites using browser-based website editors/CMS platforms such as Squarespace, Wix or Webflow You have a strong understanding of the ecommerce landscape and conversion focused design best practices You can demonstrate a strong track record of designing solutions that solve customer problems Experience building responsive interfaces Visually oriented, able to accurately translate mockups and existing sites to the front end builder Ability to think from an end user-perspective with regards to organizing site & page structure Understand the following: Commonly used CSS properties and what they do (padding, margin, etc) The difference between Absolute positioning vs Relative positioning Different types of links and how they work How states work (e.g. hover state) CSS Content Box model / best practices for building out content and text How conditions work (If this, then that) Ability to optimize images for web You excel at communicating clearly, efficiently and empathetically with your colleagues in both verbal and written form You thrive working independently in ambiguous, dynamic environments, using your problem-solving skills and creativity to consistently deliver results You can put yourself in the customers’ shoes, and are their advocate when it comes to making decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

You have understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, including the functionality and apps that merchants are using in order to enhance their ecommerce sites Knowledge of front-end development best practices Portfolio of Webflow projects Web development experience Knowledge of Shopify and its App ecosystem You have experience designing or developing accessible interfaces You have experience working remotely with international teams
