Your role as a Senior Web Performance Developer will be to continuously measure, analyze and optimize the end-user performance of Nyla sites. You’ll be able to work autonomously in an area you’re passionate about, coming up with new ideas, estimating efforts/gains with proof of concepts, as well as executing them together with the rest of the team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Evaluate, plan and deliver on gradual improvements in performance successfully over time. Work directly with the CTO to define and update budgets, tooling and workflows to prevent regressions and track against goals in specific metrics. Take a customer centric approach to performance.

Requirements:

Strong expertise in web performance monitoring and analysis (using WebPageTest, Lighthouse) Experience profiling and improving site-speed metrics in a data-driven way. You have a strong grasp of browser fundamentals and overall web standards. Expertise in React (w/ hooks) Expertise in Next.js. Conceptual understanding of modern web technologies such as CDN, Edge Computing, etc. You excel at communicating clearly, efficiently and empathetically with your colleagues in both verbal and written form. You thrive working independently in ambiguous, dynamic environments, using your problem-solving skills and creativity to consistently deliver results. You can put yourself in the customers’ shoes, and are their advocate when it comes to making decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

You have experience developing accessible interfaces. You have a strong understanding of the ecommerce landscape and the functionality and apps that leading merchants are using today in order to enhance their ecommerce stores You have a track record of delivering features that influence millions of customers and/or Merchants You have experience working remotely with international teams.
