An Industry Defining Company

Karoo is a venture-backed startup, prior to Series A, on a mission to transform cardiovascular care. Our platform is designed to empower large provider groups and health systems to succeed in value-based care contracts with payers by improving patient outcomes and reducing cost of care through better coordination, analytics, and disease management. While our initial focus is cardiology, we are building a scalable operating system for managing complex conditions across the healthcare spectrum.

This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven founding team at a pivotal stage and help define the future of healthcare technology, with the power to improve the lives of patients with cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America today.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, execution-focused Operations & Strategy Manager to drive high-priority initiatives across our healthcare operations, especially those that support strategic partnerships, care delivery, and internal cross-functional workflows. This is a builder role: you’ll own workstreams and push forward the operational backbone that enables scale and impact, while keeping workstreams aligned and creating structure where it doesn’t yet exist.

The ideal candidate thrives in early-stage, fast-moving environments and brings a proactive mindset to solving problems. You’re someone who can zoom out to connect the dots across teams, then dive in to unblock workflows, stand up processes, or wrangle the details that make everything run smoothly. You’re someone who naturally brings structure, accountability, and momentum to every project you touch.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute high-impact operational and strategic initiatives from start to finish, especially those tied to key partnerships, cross-functional goals, or care delivery improvements.
  • Proactively identify blockers or problems and roll up your sleeves to solve them, whether that means building a new process from scratch, wrangling data into a useful format, or unblocking a critical workflow.
  • Drive alignment and accountability across internal teams (product, engineering, field ops, clinical, finance, compliance, etc.) by clarifying priorities, documenting decisions, and ensuring work moves forward as planned.
  • Build lightweight systems, tools, and trackers that increase visibility and coordination across workstreams (e.g., dashboards, templates, playbooks).
  • Identify operational inefficiencies or gaps, propose pragmatic solutions, and implement process improvements that enhance team effectiveness.
  • Lead recurring working sessions, working groups, and cross-functional stand-ups, driving momentum and following through on next steps directly.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders at all levels, tailoring messaging for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain project documentation and deliverables using monday.com and Google Workspace, not just for tracking, but to drive clarity and action.
  • Ensure internal workflows align with continually-increasing compliance requirements such as HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, or FDA guidelines.
  • Operate with a bias toward action, a high degree of ownership, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Bring a flexible and collaborative mindset, and thrive in an environment where managing multiple priorities, people, and timelines is the norm.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, strategy, or program execution, ideally in a healthcare or healthtech, and early-stage startup environment.
  • Track record of owning and executing complex, cross-functional workstreams, especially those involving both technical and clinical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in complex, fast-changing environments where priorities shift and structure is still being built.
  • Familiarity with project management frameworks or tools (such as monday.com, Asana, Notion, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous situations.
  • Experience working with or within healthcare organizations, such as providers, payers, or care delivery teams.
  • Understanding of health tech ecosystems and/or EHR systems
